This resource has been created to support the teacher judgement of a child’s reading ability for the greater depth standard at the end of Year 1. The Reading Programme of Study for Year 1 has been used to build up the assessment check boxes.
These reading record grids have extracts of 90 - 100 words from 'The Smartest Giant in Town' by Julia Donaldson and 'Amazing Grace' by Mary Hoffman.

This resource is record grids only. We recommend providing the children with a copy of the texts to create a natural 1-1 reading environment.
