Unit overview:
The children will unlock the world of ‘Super Duper You’! They will be exposed to a range of photographs that explores the life of their teacher further, what makes them - them and the things they enjoy doing. As the children listen to the story ‘Super Duper you’ by Sophy Henn, they will discover all the different elements that make a person individual and special. They will then begin to discuss what makes them special. The children will bring a special photograph in from home, and they will use this to talk about and rehearse saying sentences about themselves. They will make labels of their face. They will then make a simple plan for their writing to record a fact file about their family and friends, things they like and dislike. After orally rehearsing their sentences, they will begin to write their sentences using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
