High Frequency Word Matching Game. The words are carefully organised into 'sets'. Each set builds upon the sounds learnt within phonics lessons. The decodable high frequency words appear first, followed by the 'sight words' or 'at a glance' words.
To play the game, simply download the PDF document, print and cut out. The children then play the pairs game in small groups. Turning over two cards at a time to see if they can match two high frequency words. This is a perfect activity for groups to play whilst the teacher is reading with another group in the classroom.
